OK so another gifted game to me , thank you!! i had high hopes for this game since it was detailed awhile back, being a diablo fiend and a fps fanatic this sounded like heaven. cracked it open and just knew this was a game i needed to play with a friend, so my best friend Tim and i started a co op split screen career. from the intro and class selection i already knew this was going to absorb alot of my life. so the tutorial goes in and lets me learn a few things. the action was solid the sounds were terrifying and the gore intense. it is a bit cartooned but in a fun way, alot of pop culture references and just real funny jokes thrown in here and there that ya have to pause and crack up.
so lets start with he controls: while in typical fps fashion of course, there are a few slight differences, such as extra features and menus and so on that work perfect.they are tight, every button seems as responsive as can be and all are used and its not a big confusing mess either it is a solid control scheme.now the loot drops are mostly guns ammo and mods for weapons and class.they are frequent and plentiful, now supposedly even the Dev teams doesn't know an exact number of the guns in this game but they estimate over a million. of course they get repetitive and redundant but the mods and variants make them all interesting as can be.I've played straight since Friday for an even five to six hours each day and am a level 18 with more guns than i even know what to do with.
now for the level and skill tree and other random things this game throws at ya section of this review: the level cap for now is 50, that is a high number so i see no reason for peoples complaining in the forums for a raise with out dlc, i can see a 75 cap for the zombie island dlc due out soon, but not for the actual game itself. its a steady pace you level up at not really feeling like a grind yet and as stated before I'm level 18, usually by that number you begin to feel a grind occurring in most games.not at all in this masterpiece. the skill tree is incredible, once you choose a class from the four available; berserker, siren , hunter, and soldier, all with a special skill set and specific gun skills.i went with solider for the first run and Tim used the hunter. as to not spoil anything i wont say skill sets or any of that but they are deep and full of twists once mods are introduced as well as artifacts for weapons and elemental add on as well. so the depth is exceptional in this game.there is also vehicular combat as well as just use for transport, i find the steering takes some getting used to but isn't hard at all, he combat is fluid when vehicle to vehicle fights occur, and nothing is more fun then running down your enemies.
speaking of the enemies: so many variants of enemies are around and creatures as well, Pandora (the planet the game takes place on) is full of life, brooding hatred fueled life.and they all want to start shit with you and see if your man enough to take them out.
so far the only issues i have had in the game are a few minor glitches that involved a restart and then were fixed. during a coop quest the goal didn't appear and screwed the whole quest up , so a restart took care of it. i am however having this issue again but its not repairing itself. i wonder maybe I'm missing something, but we will see. so for my rating its getting a 5 outta 5 as in hey guy or gal reading this, get up, turn around to your door , walk to a game store, purchase this game, cancel a week of plans ,work, school or significant other activities and enter the world of Pandora!
