call of duty modern warfare 2, for once an overhyped game that was completly true to the hype!!!!!

hey all, being that my last review was about over hyped games and similar subject matter, i feel this is a great exception to that and found myself retracting alot of statements this weekend.so Friday night i went to Blockbuster to get a game and a movie, the original plan was lost planet but it was out and this place had like 30 copies of modern warfare 2, so i grabbed it and said fuck it lets give it a whirl.

upon getting home i threw it in the old 360 and let the multi player load first because i was with a few friends. the multi player was fantastic, when the friends I'm with (being huge halo fans and addicts) all simultaneously said out loud "this is way better than halo" i knew infinity ward had really created a multi player masterpiece no joke! ill get into detail in a minute, but now how good can the story mode be?

well i hit start and was ready to switch on and off playing single player with a friend when a disclaimer comes on the screen that stated in not exact words but close "some scenes in this game are extremely disturbing for even mature audiences, please proceed with caution , would you like to skip the disturbing parts?" so like usual i said hell no gimme the whole game i doubt these scenes are disturbing at all. well let me say this when the first one comes on the screen i personally guarantee of you have any humanity at all or heart you will be completely not only desensitized but mortified and taken back big time, the whole room of my friends and i all went " ugh oooohhhh wow that's not really cool at all" so seriously heed that warning and take it very seriously.now for a war game i found myself so involved and into the story that when certain parts happen i as well as the rest of my friends were all like oh fuck that , fuck him or fuck her. so that was a pleasant surprise.the story was a decent length and very difficult but not dishearteningly difficult that you don't wanna play.

OK so lets get to the multi player, the maps and map selection are great, alot of good maps for sure, as well as game types and classes.we started with he usual free for all and team death match, later moving on to capture the flag which is difficult with 4 players.the firefights are intense in multi player and make you have a real good time especially since the HUD(heads up display) is not dummy proof, if someone is above you it doesn't tell you, just lets you think your in the right spot, which is challenging and enjoyable.after countless matches with my best friends this weekend i can officially say this is the definitive 4 player shooting game.

the controls are fluid however may take a little getting used to. i feel the melee on the right thumb stick click is a little difficult to use.and the weapon switch is easy using the y button but the variant of your weapon(some of them) is usually left or right on the dpad.i don't wanna give to much away but the controls are very easy to master and even easier to forget when switching to another shooter such as borderlands.there is a special ops mode which is like a challenge mission mode for split screen or xbox live and they really ate challenges for sure.now to wrap this up i want to say this, thank you infinity ward for not only an amazing game but a new appreciation for the call of duty series as well as over hyped games and a new found open mindedness for them. also thank you for one of the most enveloping and creative games i have seen in a long time. my overall opinion is a 5 out of 5, a must own!!!

great games trumped by overhyped shit?!?!!? peoples creativity being left at the door?!?

review was written, I'm over tired....would anyone like to talk builds for classes in borderlands? is anyone playing this game besides a few of my friends? it seems like over hyped shit like call of duty modern over hype 2 is trumping the spotlight that should be shining on a new age and new style of game like borderlands and that bothers me.....i mean as gamers we have a responsibility to try many types of games but if we keep buying the same over hyped shit and its even more over hyped shit sequels that is all we will ever get for our consoles and that sucks! now i get the fact that dragon age origins is out but between left 4 dead 2 brutal legend(which i still haven't touched since the day i got it) , borderlands and DJ hero i don't know when i will get to that epic game.but seriously now people, why do you keep buying sequel after sequel, the call of duty franchise is a great one yes but its has become a member of the gears of hype.....war oops and hypelo...halo damn i need coffee i guess ha ha..area of mass marketing and 7 year old flooding the headsets with their annoying squeaky voices and me yelling "where the mother fuck is your parents you little shit?!?!?!?!???!" so people please start trying new things for us , for you, for developers and publishers....if they think all they gotta do is rehash and remix the same shit they did already all creativeness will disappear and a world without creativeness is one i do not wanna see or live in.

holy almost perfect game batman, borderlands is unbelievable

OK so another gifted game to me , thank you!! i had high hopes for this game since it was detailed awhile back, being a diablo fiend and a fps fanatic this sounded like heaven. cracked it open and just knew this was a game i needed to play with a friend, so my best friend Tim and i started a co op split screen career. from the intro and class selection i already knew this was going to absorb alot of my life. so the tutorial goes in and lets me learn a few things. the action was solid the sounds were terrifying and the gore intense. it is a bit cartooned but in a fun way, alot of pop culture references and just real funny jokes thrown in here and there that ya have to pause and crack up.
so lets start with he controls: while in typical fps fashion of course, there are a few slight differences, such as extra features and menus and so on that work perfect.they are tight, every button seems as responsive as can be and all are used and its not a big confusing mess either it is a solid control scheme.now the loot drops are mostly guns ammo and mods for weapons and class.they are frequent and plentiful, now supposedly even the Dev teams doesn't know an exact number of the guns in this game but they estimate over a million. of course they get repetitive and redundant but the mods and variants make them all interesting as can be.I've played straight since Friday for an even five to six hours each day and am a level 18 with more guns than i even know what to do with.
now for the level and skill tree and other random things this game throws at ya section of this review: the level cap for now is 50, that is a high number so i see no reason for peoples complaining in the forums for a raise with out dlc, i can see a 75 cap for the zombie island dlc due out soon, but not for the actual game itself. its a steady pace you level up at not really feeling like a grind yet and as stated before I'm level 18, usually by that number you begin to feel a grind occurring in most games.not at all in this masterpiece. the skill tree is incredible, once you choose a class from the four available; berserker, siren , hunter, and soldier, all with a special skill set and specific gun skills.i went with solider for the first run and Tim used the hunter. as to not spoil anything i wont say skill sets or any of that but they are deep and full of twists once mods are introduced as well as artifacts for weapons and elemental add on as well. so the depth is exceptional in this game.there is also vehicular combat as well as just use for transport, i find the steering takes some getting used to but isn't hard at all, he combat is fluid when vehicle to vehicle fights occur, and nothing is more fun then running down your enemies.
speaking of the enemies: so many variants of enemies are around and creatures as well, Pandora (the planet the game takes place on) is full of life, brooding hatred fueled life.and they all want to start shit with you and see if your man enough to take them out.
so far the only issues i have had in the game are a few minor glitches that involved a restart and then were fixed. during a coop quest the goal didn't appear and screwed the whole quest up , so a restart took care of it. i am however having this issue again but its not repairing itself. i wonder maybe I'm missing something, but we will see. so for my rating its getting a 5 outta 5 as in hey guy or gal reading this, get up, turn around to your door , walk to a game store, purchase this game, cancel a week of plans ,work, school or significant other activities and enter the world of Pandora!

brutalish almost legendary?

i have been following this game since it was announced in i believe 2007, so when a release date was finally set in stone i was pumped, due to money issues was unable to pre order , thankfully a good friend got it for me recently.so the pre game intro was hysterically bad , thanks jack (so not funny) black, so upon starting the game watching the game intro was funny, a bunch of tween dream Gerard way type dudes on stage talking about heavy metal, then its pretty much the band all time low(ew). so the story starts and as i am not a spoiler fan i wont go in on that , but i say it is engrossing. the tutorial section is superb really explains it all.
once the game really starts there is alot and i mean alot to learn, control wise and command wise.the strategy aspect I'm not a big fan of but it works and helps and is a must so on with it i went, the guitar riffs to summon cars and battle crys and other things i wont spill are easy at first but get tricky, really gotta know your controller for this game. the driving is a little difficult to master but you will. the graphics are slightly ps2ish but it is a schafer game he is weird.however i do not feel this game lived up to all the huge hype it received. being a huge metal fan myself however i do greatly appreciate the humorous ways they intro guests and famed metal gods and other fun goodies, my total opinion is buy it and I'm sorry for the scattered form on this one i have lots going on right now and cant concentrate so well.

the big over done hype games

OK now i know for a fact this is gonna cause a huge stir with alot of my fans and readers, I'm not sorry.

I'm gonna start with the word hype. hype: A fad. A clever marketing strategy which a product is advertised as the thing everyone must have, to the point where people begin to feel they need to consume it.

the first game I'm gonna rip a new one is the highly way to overrated halo (all of them).the graphics are not as amazing as people boast first off, the controls are as simplistic as it gets, the engine is all completely unbalanced, i have a grenade launcher and am shooting you in the face at point blank and it doesn't kill you but i haven't taking a bullet yet and your gonna melee me once and i die, OK seriously what the fuck sense does that make people? the weapons are stupid nothing original at all, the design of them yes but non do anything new and intuitive. the maps are clearly all designed by monkey's with computers, i mean they have no real drive or creativeness, nothing impressive, i find them boring and repetitive. OK i will give for the next gen consoles so far it the only fps i have played with great multi player options, i wont take that from this over hyped trash but it doesn't save it in my book. i play the game with my 3 friends that adore it for them cause they don't like alot of the games i play and they play anyway . but when i am using a rocket launcher or grenade launcher and blasting your face off and your not dying and u run in my face and hit the b button once and my undamaged player gets killed by one melee hit, I'm sorry that is ridiculous.

next on this list which is the last on this list for now more will come I'm sure, is that atrocity gears of war(both). now i was late to the 360 bandwagon, i waited until exactly a year ago this week to pick it up, i grabbed one game with it and it was gears of war 2. got home from work pretty damn excited to try this game out cause of all the hype i heard. so story mode ahoy. 25 minutes in i was so bored and unimpressed that i fell asleep. OK the characters look like someone pumped steroids into a bunch of cavemen with really shitty totally unintuitive armor and the shittiest combat system i have ever encountered. the engine is of course unreal but i have never seen such a bad use of the engine that has done so much good for this industry. the damage balance i complained about in halo was not in this game at least but the story and action were just so dull and unexciting that i couldn't believe how much shit people talk about how amazing this game is.

so go ahead rip it up tear me a new one i don't give a fuck this is why you all read my shit, because i don't care what anyone thinks, and i love a good debate. so go smash it i don't care! this is how i feel and you all respect it!

marvel ultimate aliance 2

i wanna start by saying flat out i hated the first game in this series. so when i recieved this game as a generous gift i was reluctant to play it, but in it went and i had 3 people so it would be at least fun no matter what. well after realizing the game follows the civil war storyline from marvel i was thrilled. from the first mission i got hooked, it was fun , engrossing and very different from the first although it doesnt look it at all, the 2 player fusion attacks are awesome with all the different team member combos and moves , my two favorites are gambit and deadpool. i believe right now there are 24 characters to unlock but marvel and the games publisher have said dlc is comming with up too 300 additional team members. the controls are fluid, the game feels like the perfect length , the learning curve is almost perfect, aside from a few placement glitches , like the fight with (spoiler alert) goliath and or ant man, we fell off the building and were slaughtering his legs and he couldnt even slap us cause the fight was meant to be on the roof tops. the fight against whirlwind we got caught on the side of the level in his tornado and couldnt get out to beat him had to restart the whole level. other than that i say 4 out of 5 stars.

batman arkham asylum

ok so being a ridiculous batman fan i was waiting for this game for ages, having heard nothing but greatness for a week or so now i got it finally. cracked it open and popped it in the 360. from the opening cut scene i was hooked. the story is very engrossing for a true batman fan, they slipped so many villains in, even minor ones you may have forgot about. being the first time arkham has been thoroughly explored, i had super high expectations and was not at all let down, the place is spectacular as well as grand, the dark evil horrible things have happened here feeling never goes away.
the controls are good despite some rumour of being hard to master, i feel they ease you in slowly but very steadily and i was comftorble with the way it was done.the detail is fantastic, you get a knife slice your suit shows damage in the exact spot and doesnt go away, stuble begins to grow on the caped crusaders chin at a steady pace as time passes. the character models are unbelievable.you get hit with a pipe the screen goes dizzy , you get stunned the screens blanks in and out, the fighting and combos are so smooth the frame rate is on point. batmans gadgetry was a big nail biter for me but they really did perfectly, this game has my vote for game of the year and possibly the model for what other developers should be using as a quality model for years to come! i dont wanna say to much on the story but i will say you wont wanna stop playing at all.
